After years of building all sorts of websites I finally realized what is the best choice for pages URL’s…this advice holds true for static HTML sites or any CMS but especially for WordPress.

This seems to be a problem with the new version of WordPress 3.5, let’s hope they will fix it in the future. But anyways, here is the solution:
Using an FTP program or file manager, open this file wp-config.php, this is in the root folder of your worpress installation, the public.htm folder depending on you hosting set up.
Open the file with dreamweaver or your favorite code editor, preferably something that tells you the lines of code, otherwise you will need to use find and replace.

2. Right on top of it, (line 179), add this:
define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false );
Save the file and re-upload and that’s it, problem solved!
This should be obvious but it’s not, and what is even more non obvious is the name of the pluggin than is required “after the deadline”…that has got to be the stupidest name for an addon, searching for spell check on the word press site brings it up in position 3 or something but with a name like that I just browsed over it without bothering to read the description!..
This is an annoying feature of Windows 7, no graphic EQ on the volume icon…so how can you control your bass? Well actually it’s very simple if you know where and how to look, here it is.

Fortunately wordpress is a well know and used CMS, because of it’s popularity it’s constantly updated and things run very smoothly making the installation on a local machine a breeze. This is not always the case for other content management systems out there that are riddled with problems and installation errors.
Download any of the free Local host servers from over here, but make sure you pick the right version, some are for 32bit and some for 64bit windows version. In some cases with very old scripts like OS Date or Sikula for example, they won’t work because a local host with an older PHP version is required. Choose the .exe file as it is self installing.

Run the .exe and choose a location on your hard disk, this doesn’t really matter but it’s better to put it in it’s own folder. I’m not sure about other localhosts, but uniserver is also portable, so you can copy the whole folder and all projects and websites to another machine.
Take your whole WordPress folder and paste it into htdocs in Xampp and Wampp and in the www folder in uniserver.
Create a database in PHP my admin (on all wampp solutions this will be a link from the page localhost), you will need this for the wordpress installation procedure. Make sure to also create a user and allocate the user to the new database.
Run the installation wizard.
Conclusively this is a very basic and short tutorial on how to install wordpress on a local machine. If this article attracts any traffic at all and there is a need for better instructions I will be sure to post them over here. In the meantime please leave you feedback.

Prices can range from 10 000 baht to a quarter million…but on average expect to pay about 20 000 to 30 000 baht for something decent. There is a wide variety of choice for a website ranging from plain HTML to CMS (content management system) like Joomla, Word Press or Drupal. Custom CMS design is not recommended because the price is usually prohibitively high and there is very little support available.

These are the three most common ones in use today. Although in Thailand designer’s English is limited, all CMS versions have a Thai back end interface. The only problem with that is that you will not be able to manage your own website, this is why it’s important to hire and English speaking professional. If the site is HTML the language will be less of an issue.

Opens source basically means free for all, like public domain basically. On a technological standpoint opens source usually applies to CMS software and applications.
